VISITORS to NHS buildings across East Sussex can now check their disabled access and facilities through an online service.

The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse care at almost 100 sites across Sussex, ranging from day care centres to secure inpatient accommodation.

Through the trust website visitors with a mobility or sensory impairment can check if the building is wheelchair friendly, has hearing loops fitted, if guide dogs are allowed and the car parking available.

The trust has now become the first in the Southeast Coast NHS region to provide the service through its website.

Alan Shirt, director of facilities at Sussex Partnership, said the service would help improve disabled facilities at its sites.

Visitors "We'll encourage visitors to feed back via the online service on Embroidered patches what they would like to see improved, and what's working for them," he said.

"Through this, we'll build up a detailed picture of what visitors really need to access our services."
